Trouble Shooting:
Things to check if your computer won't connect
1. CAPS Lock
-
Are you typing
in capital letters? Your login and password are case
sensitive.
2. Is
there a dial tone? Plug a regular phone
into the jack and check for dial
tone.
3. Unplug modem (and router if you have
one) for 20 seconds. Plug back in and
wait approximately 1 minute before
attempting to reconnect to the internet.
4. Restart your computer. At times,
computers will not complete all the start up
functions. A simple restart can alleviate
many problems.
5. Sun outages - For approximately 3
weeks in the late winter and early fall, we
experience sun outages. You can connect to
the internet, but not surf. Check with the
business office if you think this may be the
case.
6. Recently added a new program? If a
new program was recently downloaded and you
experience connection problems, you may want
to “uninstall” the new program, clear out
everything and reload it. Restart your
computer upon completion of the download.
