What is WiMAX?
Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is a telecommunications technology that uses radio spectrum to transmit bandwidth between digital devices. Similar to Wi-Fi, WiMAX brings with it the ability to utilize internet services mobily, but transmits over far greater distances and is able to handle much more data.

WiMAX is a wireless IT communications technology with reliable high bandwidth that extends over much greater distances than traditional Wifi antennas.  WiMAX is a long-distance wireless technology, designed to provide broadband internet access to even the most remote locations where traditional phone lines are unavailable.

Corodva Telephone Cooperative is the first internet provider in south-central Alaska to provide this emerging technology that offers wireless broadband access over long distances.
